Hi Everyone, I'm new here and just wanted to find out about Genious hosting (http://www.genious.co.za/), which I just bumped into.

Has anyone here used it before? Is it any good? Their website is very well-designed... which is a good thing, I guess. Packages look decent, starting at just under 40 bucks a month. The names of those packages are weird though. Why would they call their entry-level shared package "Foolish"? I mean, it's not a bad package at all (except for the amount email accounts)...

I'm also looking at their cPanel (or GPanel?) demo, and it kinda looks old-school, but not bad nonetheless.

Thoughts?

This is a genuine question - I really want to know if anyone has had experience with this hosting provider.

Honestly, it just seems a little hectic that they're all over the place (world). For my first time hearing about it, I find it difficult to compare to other multi-nationals... If you know what I mean.

Also, they're very generic - like with the Rand sign after the amount...

Meh, was just curious anyway. Happy with EliteHost. :)

They legit and they based on Morocco. They they only other active ICANN Registrar in Africa besides us.

Do they have servers here? (I'd certainly hope they do...)
 
Their dedicated servers are crazy expensive compared to what you would get with Hetzner.
 
It's not a local South African company. They merely have a co.za version of their site (as I'm sure they have almost every TLD) to appeal to South African customers, but the business is based in Morocco, hence all the weird pricing (converted from Moroccan dirham).

I thought that may be the case. I wish companies would do stuff properly.
