Hi All

Need some advice please. My company bought me a Gentech 1600w trolley in Nov(not my first choice). Was fine running around with load of 200w for 2 hours at a time for about a month but now I get 30 min at best. What would be the best solution to replace the existing agm batteries and does anyone have experience with this unit ito what is compatible etc. My knowledge with batteries is novice at best so really looking for some advice here.

yes seems be this one, yes will work with lithuim just make sure fan turns on when charging.
From that link:

The Gentech Power Battery charge cycles are rated to last as follows:

100% Depth of Discharge = +- 350 Charge Cycles

80% Depth of Discharge = +- 520 Charge Cycles

50% Depth of Discharge = +- 730 Charge Cycles

Due to the current and continuous load shedding, these cycles can be depleted between 3 to 6 months. Once these charge cycles are depleted, the battery will have reached its “end of life” and will need to be replaced immediately.

Didn't know AGM could give +-350 charge cycles at 100% DoD.

AGM batteries what a freaking waste honestly, if you can't afford lithium, cheapest flooded sealed lead acids you can find.

Thanks a lot. When you refer to fans, the inverter fans? The battery housing unit doesn't have any fans.
Correct inverter fans, they would needed to keep charging unit from not overheating. Some inverters does not manage it based in temperature and they can just pop.

Definitely looking at Lithuim, my main concern was just whether this inverter is compatible or not

Most will be sort of compatible with drop in replacements.

Hi. Did you connect Lithium batteries? My understanding is that the Gentech inverters only work with lead acid batteries. I also purchased the Gentech 1600w inverter and the 800w one. the booklet indicates lead acid batteries/GEL/AGM batteries only. I then phoned Gentech and a person from technical support (Francois) confirmed that the Gentech inverter charger cannot handle lithium batteries. Bummer, since I already bought lithium batteries. Will return the Gentech inverters...............

Lifep04 charges with the same voltages as lead acid

So the lithium will be fine

Some inverters has broken fan logic , and thus runs too hot at certain times since the fan slows down too early

If you babysit the first charging session you should find out if all is well

ie observe the heat it produces charging lead acid

Swop out the lithium charge

If you have a multi meter , once the lithium goes over14.2 you now it is close to full if the fan on the inverter spins the same speed as most of charging session you should be fine

The lithiums don't need any extra cooling

I have happily charged lithium on devices meant for lead acid

ie normal pc ups

And mecer desktop inverter

And in fact even sunsynk tell their customers to run their inverter on agm setting if they can't get battery coms to work

Yeah rather just return that piece of shyte. Had mine for a month and even with low load the batteries where gone within a month. A 200W TV could only run for about 20 min before the batteries where drained. Opted for a silent invertor generator instead.
