The phrase was used by the Miami Police Chief during the riots back in 1967.
These kind of riots are part of America. Americans riot for anything. Sports coach gets fired, lets riot. Sports team loses lets riot. Get told you can't party here, lets riot.
Then there are the riots over more deeper systematic things like this. Probably since this case appeared to be going the way of many similar ones where the police protect their own and the video just shows the seemingly senseless way in which he was killed.
Anger builds up and spills over. It does no service to the legitimate cause that police should not be killing suspects like that and these senseless riots will now blur that message forever.
But, it is something that is a part of America.
