Bought myself one of these the other day, been using it a lot for toasted sandwiches.

Today however tried it for the first time with a steak (nice juicy rib eye) and I'm quite impressed. Five minutes it was done, steak was good - not open flame good but it took me a fraction of the time and I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anybody have some good ideas what to grill next? :D

I tried some fish once. Was ok, but a frying pan was similar. Wife said I was trying to justify having bought it

Was it not too dry?

Not at all. I find this grill gets really really hot and it sears the meat nicely on the outside.

Also a rib eye tends to stay juicy due to the cut. I also like my meat pretty rare so didn't get time to dry out.

Cleaned up really easily too btw, that was the final test and it passed :D

Mine has been relegated to toasted sandwiches only. Perhaps I should give it another chance.

Makes a damn fine toasted sandwich maker.

I want to try out some veggies on it some time, like chargrilled mediterranean mix vibe.

That thing cooked all my meals when I lived alone. I used to grill a bag of bacon first, then everything I grilled after that would be covered in bacon fat. It was the first thing my wife threw away when she moved in.

I used to have one but found the meat to dry and got rid of it. Couple of years later I thought of getting a new one but ended p with one of these halogen table top ovens. One of the. Best kitchen utils I ever bought. Steak from frozen to done in 20 min and it is juicy. Also it doesn't have those stupid little "fat catchers" the GF has, all the fat just drips to the bottom.

Table top halogen oven > George Foreman any day.

Can it make everything taste like bacon fat though? :D

I do chicken fillets, throw some mac cains potatoe wedges in the air fryer, presto nandos meal just better.

Got the the one with the control ,it is nearly worn out but never tried toasted sandwiches on it just meat .
Thanks i will try toasting sandwiches on it.
That thing is great for searing steak.

I use mine for toasted sammies... its better than normal toasties because it doesn't try make them in to a triangle shape.

We used to use them for steak but I prefer the griddle pan, on a lot of steaks it would boil the steak. Chicken is fine but we don't often do grilled chicken.

Should use it for veg but we mostly do steamed veg.

Its a mission to clean.
