Germany recognises Bitcoin as currency for regulatory purposes

Well done - wouldn't have expected ze Germans to lead on this front.

From prior experience I can see its likely going to be buried in obscure rules though. Germans are very good at organization & coordination...but they are better at rules...

This is incorrect. Nobody has any control over bitcoin. The max number of bitcoins is mathematically determined.
