Good day, for the last month or so saw some oil leak in my garage, knew it was a bit of gearbox oil, as more than 6 months ago I have my gearbox fixed and since then, oil leak at the inner cv and was told by the repairer that they have replaced seals for number of times I too it back and it seems like not going away. So I said will use it for another 3 months or so and see what happens. It's just since last week I could feel a stiffness on gears so I thought today let me refill with a pint or so. As I wanted a quick filling in gear oil, I removed the speedometer assembly from the box and realized that the last shaft with gear was still inside and on trying to pull it out, if actually fell more in the box. I did'nt start but moved it a bit back into my garage, but on struggling, started the car and immediately the car idling and even on reving its uneven as if spark plug has oil or something of a sort.
Is there an easy way to strip and loom for it, as I haven't driven the car, my worry is that it;s a metal shaft only hard plastic at the end and would it be closing or blocking something in the block that it niw affected my car idling? As this was was always running fine until just trying to do the above. Your help will be appreciated, otherwise will have to lift tow it where I suspect will pay so much for not much work done?
