I have a serial port GSM/GPRS modem (Siemens MC35i), and have a MTN pay as you go card.

How can I programatically query the device to get available airtime?

I would just need the AT commands to do this.

Many thanks

I've got the MC35's AT command set. If you PM me an e-mail addy, I'll forward it to you.

Check with ginggs if his utility will not do this for you, as is. might well. Ginggs hijacked one of my GSM modems for testing a while ago and I suspect it's for exactly this purpose.

@ginggs, if you want to test a MC35, I've got a few laying around.

You are right, if you use the /port command line switch, mdma will skip trying to detect the device and just use the device specified. If the MC35 uses the 3gpp standard commands you should at least see the signal strength. Features like USSD, SMS and CBMs should work if they were implemented by the manufacturer.

Thanks, I will take you up on that, and return your hijacked Wavecom too. :o
