Get R5,000 back on iPhone 6 upgrade

Would be happy to trade in and pay the nett difference but that option not available.Seems you only get cash back if you take a contract - makes no sense.

Do they take off R500 per small scratch/knick?

I contacted the iStore call centre and was told that you can take the iPhone 6 on a cash basis and still make use of the voucher thus paying in only the net amount :)

Yes, correct but it does get a bit technical, If the voucher was redeemed prior the 10th of October 2014 then yes you can use it on a cash purchase. However if the voucher was redeemed after the 10th Of October then unfortunatly the voucher can only be used on a upgrade or a new contract. The Cash back will be transferred into your back account within 15 working days...

Ok so here is the fineprint for the trade-in:

Value of the committed amount on the voucher is subject to the applicant being the lawful owner of the device, the
device is in good working order, there is no damage to the screen, has not had unauthorised repairs and the iPhone
outer shell is not damaged
. Apple Find my iPhone must be deactivated on the device. The committed amount is
based on the phone being in good condition and iStore may cancel the voucher or decrease the amount stated on
the voucher if the above is found to be untrue
. iStore assessment results are final. This voucher cannot be used in
conjunction with any other special offer and is valid for a single iPhone purchase only. This voucher must be printed
out and submitted in-store in order to claim the trade in amount when upgrading your iPhone at iStore. Upgrades
on existing cellular contracts can be processed for Vodacom, MTN, Cell C & Telkom Mobile cellular providers. Take
out a new cellular contract, or upgrade an existing contract and iStore will give you the trade in amount as cash back
via Electronic Funds Transfer. Payments will only be made into South African registered bank accounts. Cash trade in
amount can only redeemed against the purchase of a new iPhone from iStore.Trade In voucher is redeemable at
iStore and not istoreonline.co.za. Terms and conditions apply. iStore will not be held liable for any misrepresentation
caused due to an unintentional copy error, and/or omission that may occur on any of our material. E&OE.

The voucher states
Get R4000 back when trading in your iPhone 5

So will it be R4000 when you include the charger and cable and your phone is in
good condition
as stated in the T&C's. Cause nowhere on the voucher states that the amount is UP TO R4000.

Then again what is seen as good condition for a 2 year old phone?

Interesting & very tempting as it's actually worth it to upgrade this way.. but.. sadly my iphones get recycled for a further 2 yr period to parentals as they use prepaid and arent too fused with having the latest and greatest + makes me supporting their 1001 questions and needs on the device (security cam app + mail + im stuff etc + iPad) etc easier

One issue i am having though is what to do with devices in which iOS can no longer be updated. So in this case it would be iPhone 4 (because the iOS drop off for support & apps pretty much dies when you can't update to latest iOS - 1 version)..

In which case it's worth close to R7500.
