Yes and also dr watson never pops up and randomly closes stuff down 
Also vista does not slow down like xp, 2 months and xp is crawling, major flaw of xp. Still its a good OS and works well even if it can be very unstable.

Any freshly installed OS is much faster. But it certainly doesn't gradually slow down to a point of being useless
EDIT: And most certainly not in two months.

Not useless but i used to reload every 3-4 months because it gets slower. Also depends i always have plenty programs installed and uninstalled within a couple of months which i heard is the main reason it slows down, the registry or something.
Vista runs about the same fresh installed or not, well the 64 bit version anyhow. Have never used the 32 bit version so it could be a 32 bit OS problem.

Running Vista? yep!
My poor system suffered BSODs daily thankfully Linux saved me. Vista can't handle a multitasking HTPC the way Linux can.
If that cannot run vista then your just talkin nonsense
I have seen a 2180 with 2 of memory and 9600gso run vista very well and fast indeed.
Maybe you bought one of those 399 mobo's
I have a P5Q, I was being sarcastic Vista runs fine especially after the latest bios update, I only use it to game because on linux I can watch TV on one workspace and run a virtual Machine on another workspace with just 2GB of ram, to do this on Vista I need a minimum of 4GB to keep things running smoothly.

Yip I also noticed the same things with XP it would gradually slow down as the months passed. Never bluescreened on me ever, just got slower. I eventually pinned one of the major slow downs to loading IE7. Vista however 64-bit has stayed the same ..... even improved in speed with it's Superfetch which optimises things over time. Overall in 2 years running Vista never had a blue screen so for me it's as stable as anything, never had any driver problems either which many people seem to have experienced and seems to be one of the biggest gripes with early Vista adopters.
