Getting a dog, any advice?

My advice to the question per heading iss....DON'T.

It shits in your house, on your lawn and practically everywhere it goes, pissess everywhere, slobber and generally makes a mess and stinks up your house, not to mention the incessant barking sometimes and some attack other animals and people for no reason......well unless you like the aforesaid things and wants to piss off your neighbours.

My take on a "good dog" is one with tyre marks over it. It then stops doing the above things.
You and @TheMightyQuin are meant for each other.

Every townhouse complex have an old fart that kak and kerm about everything.
It is easy to spot them, even on the internet

Rent free, son...rent free.

PS. I've had 6 dogs in my lifetime, of which 3 currently live the life of kings with us. So suck my balls...
I know you love dogs. @Pax will make a good pet. He just need some training:

If aimed at me....I live on a golf estate not a townhouse complex like a pleb. I do nor moan, I stir **** and make things happen

But I also like playing with the half-witted and eliciting dark responses.

Is here a I hate children thread........?

Eish I got a hole-in-one without even having a swing.

I would love to get a basset hound puppy as a friend to our doggy but no idea where to look in the PMB / Midlands / Howick area. (yes, I am familiar with Basset Hounds and the "challenges" ) I am not willing to pay the price of a horse and even better if it is an adopted doggy. Or perhaps a different doggy that is compatible with my semi intelligent and low-noise but active doggy that is not too active (like not digging up the garden and run in circle 24 hours) and seldom barks. Can fetch ball (unless it is a basset, lol). And can go for walkies. Small/medium breed but not a rat. Must love coffee. I do pop in at the spca's in the area now and then but haven't found something.

Basset Rescue. Google it.

Our basset girl passed away last year, "our SPCA dog", there was not a day we ever regretted adopting her.

She was a naughty **** in a nice way, when the "gooi'ed those eyes", it was game set and match to her. She had a thing about cats: ever seen a basset trying to climb a tree, baying? As for anything else, they could walk over her. With people, she was our protector. Oh, and bassets do fetch the ball -if they feel like it, not perhaps get distracted by a some strange scent that needs immediate investigation ending up with a Tour de Garden :)

Cant figure out where the heck they are located.

After Luna (adopted) died last year we had a small break of 2-3 months not sure if we should get another dog.
On our timeline PitPals was popping all the time so at the end gave them a call and we first adopted Lilly and then 4 months later Obi.
Try to adopt if you can.

Giving your dog raw marrow bones helps with the chewing. Whenever you see them chewing on something they should not, give them the marrowbone.

It also helps if you need to leave them alone for a while.

Imo super dangerous, not a big fan of giving bones, raw bones are better but still dangerous. These I would at very least cut in half

Make sure the bones are not cut too small for the dog. I tend to ask the butcher to leave them around 6-7cm long and from the middle of the shin bone only, not the edges.

You are correct, do not give a dog cooked bones.

If my 70KG bullmastiffs cant crush these bones, I doubt a medium or small dog can.
