In East London.

I had adsl 512 about 3yrs back and cancelled during the whole mweb uncapped and throttling issue.

Telkom are unable to let me know if there are adsl ports available in my area - Abbotsford , East London.
Nearest phone number I have is Spar 300m away 0437264650

I'm looking at 4mb adsl.

I know i have to handle the telephone line rental @R166.50pm thats fine.

I see if I let ISP handle the 4mb adsl line I can save R21 - R25 pm?
Good idea or bad idea or should i just handle that with telkom?

The following Telkom service is available in your location:
ADSL is available in your area
Your exchange is also enabled for 10Mbps
You are connected to the CAMBRIDGE (ECM+) exchange.

Telkom availability information
ADSL:
Yes
Self Install Option 1:
Yes
ADSL Max Speed: 4096Kbps
10Mbps Enabled:
Yes
20Mbps Enabled:
No

So seems 4MB is available, just don't want to cough up R166.50 pm for telephone if there will never be ports available.
I had this issue the last time I got adsl and had to wait months.

Best is to try and get hold of TelkomZA or a Telkom tech in your area and find out from them if ports are available.

As for putting a 4Mbit line with your ISP to save R25 a month, not worth it.
The only time it might be worth having your line with an ISP is if you use Vox for their VDSL.
