But, I honestly think there's no harm in getting a Vodacom sim, and loading a gig prepaid bundle onto it and giving it a whirl. If you've got R300 odd to spare - could be a really fruitful experiment for you.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, but what if its a waste, dont REALLY have money to throw around, lol:eek: But, yes, sounds good, i tried vodacom the other day, not better for me. IT must be that im 10000km away from a tower of something, hehe, ag i dont know what to do, and this MTN thing of trying to activate their VPN on my sim is impossible, no one can help me.

The best is that, i foned an mtn consultant, and he blames other staff, because they arent in there offices @ 8am like they should be. Whats that got to do with me, exactly, all i want is their damn VPN, and alm,ost all of them dont know what it is.

That is high. you may want to look at getting an external antenna to bring it down.

I thought 98 out of 100 was quite good. Better go beat up my grade 3 maths teacher. ;)

My dBm is usually at -79 odd.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

My Percentage signal strength is 98%
My Decibell signal strength is -79dBm

Which puts me here:

"Good - Levels between -75dBm and -85dBm - normally no problem holding a connection with this sort of level (even with cell breathing) without the use of an external antenna."

yeah i think mt dBm is up to sh** so, i saw it was comething quite silly, last time i checked. If so, then thats why i have so many dces on WOW, explains alot, now i know to buy an antenna, but how much it cost? and where could i get one? MTN? and would it be worth it?

Getting disconnected every 5-10 minutes myself. On MTN with an E220

The 1k ping I can handle. Not the disconnects. And you'd think that it's an internet problem? Nope... surf as fast as I always could

Well dude, you have joined the right thread, because that is EXACTLY what happens to me, i run around, no matter what i do, get dc all the time. 5-10 minutes, sometimes 1-5 minutes. Its obviously that the network we run on is congested.

I live in the helderburg area In Cape Town. Maybe its got to do with where you are located. I froze my account, and im not touching WOW till i get adsl, cant stand it any longer

3.x has always been a nightmare for me in raids and recently, after having tried everything, i loaded up task manager and checked out my cpu activity. If i disabled all my addons it seemed much better.

I have a quad core 2.4 and 1 of the cores was running at about 98%. I then overclocked by 15% to about 2.7GHz and now wow runs perfectly so for me it was a CPU issue and not anything else and it's so misleading when you get disconencted for 'no apparent reason'.

I'm in JHB at the moment living more or less at the same spot Pitbull is (I can see his house from where I stay :D )

Kind of really ****ing annoying if you ask me. DC'ing during a quest... coming back in apologizing to the party members that was looking for your heal....

I am convinced that it is MTN. I switched to Neotel (sometimes better sometimes worse) and no disconnects.
