Getting frustrated with store staff [Solved]

CellC really needs to do something about their store staff if they want to attract new customers. I was previously on an MTN contract that expired on 14th June. I thought I'd port to Cell C for the 8520 on ControlChat contract. Many people warned me that porting to CellC would be the worst mistake I can make, but I said that they're changing. It seems as if I was wrong. I went in to the store in Walmer Park, Port Elizabeth, on the 14th where I filled in the contract form and was just waiting for the MTN contract to end so I could go onto MTN prepaid before I would then be ported onto CellC. Once I was on prepaid I went into the store on the 15th, hoping to sign the contract, and get the phone the next day or by the Friday at the most latest (I was told this on the 14th).

On that Friday afternoon at 17:00 I went in to find out what was happening because I had received no phone call to come collect my phone, and they were full of excuses, blaming the people in charge of porting, and promised again, that without a doubt I would have the phone by Monday. I went in again this morning and now their excuse is that everything is ready, but some other consultant took all the phones for all the stores for himself, so now we have to wait until Wednesday to get them. What type of an excuse is that? How can one 'consultant' be allowed to get all the phones for one area? Not only that; CellC keep making me empty promises and then don't even have the decency to call me about it, and when I go into store to find out about it (Costing me, time and petrol), it's just excuses and everyone is playing on their phones.

Just thought I should post it here to anyone who might make the same mistake as I did, thinking CellC has changed. If they have it definitely isn't for the better. If everything isn't sorted out by Wednesday, I'm going to go back to MTN.

I have to agree with you, CellC really sucks!

I went to their store in Clearwater mall on the weekend to enquire about the 3Gb special for 12months. I was told that they don't have stock and that I should try Makro, Edgars, Game or Autopage. I went to all the mentioned stores and none of them offer that special, they said it is only available from CellC directly!

So I go back to the CellC store and they say "O yes, THAT special is only available at our store but we don't have stock and don't know when we will be getting" WTF???

Really put off by the whole experience to be honest... Maybe their sales staff need to get a bit of whoooosh up their @sses!!

Agreed. A few weeks ago I wanted to sign up for one of the Redbull Mobile packages and they kept me waiting 3 hours, continuously feeding me rubbish and telling me that it's almost done, up until the point I just couldn't handle it anymore and left. The Cell C rep contacted me and asked me to send through the documentation so that he could sort things out, but I never bothered since I was so put off by the staff's incompetence. I'll rather stick to MTN and Vodacom and pay their more expensive fees, since at least there they seem to somewhat know what the hell is going on.

That's how I'm starting to feel now as well. It's no point they do a complete re-branding and network upgrade, but the people working in the stores are useless.
