Getting into open source

Well you have to hand it to M$, they are trying to tackle the security issue with byte-code orientated Apps, aka .NET (M$ version of Java). But as we all know, the only way to get performance out of byte-code orientated languages is to throw high resources/cpu/ram to the "problem" where as with machine compiled code with security in mind built-in from the start, you don't require "high-end resources". So Open Source isn't just lighter on licenses, but also on resources, machine wise. A person that can setup a Open Source alternative, knows more than the average M$ skilled person, exactly what <moLe> said. They lock you in and only teach you what they think you need to know.
