Hi all,

Going to a Indian restaurant tomorrow and looking for some possible tips on what can assist to prevent me permanently engaged on the throne in the early hours of the morning.
You help would be appreciated.

Indian = engaged to the porcelain throne? Really? :wtf:

I've just eaten one lekker beans bunnychow and I'm hundreds.. will have curry tonight as well and still be hundreds.

If the result is "permanently engaged on the throne in the early hours of the morning", why do that to yourself in the first place?

...or just have some plain naan (?) bread and water.

Drink at least one lassi (yoghurt drink - my favourite is mango) during or after the meal, stay clear of any curries hotter than mild - watch out for sambals, they often contain VERY hot chillis. Stay especially clear of very oily curries (mutton is usually extremely fatty) - the oil in combination with chilli really increases indigestion if you are prone to it. Don't drink water to cool a burning mouth - rather drink milk or yoghurt.

Me - I love the hot curries and all the chilli sambals - YUM! Enjoy!

Same. In fact I usually need to decrease the heat when I cook for some of my Indian friends...

Edit: And shot, OP, I'll make some curry for supper.

We went to my favorite places the last couple times, so being considerate as she loves Indian food. :o

It is a myth that chillis cause stomach troubles. Stems from the morons who claimed that they cause ulcers, because they burn. Twits.

There is nothing to prepare for. Chillis do not cause trouble problems. Please get this imprinted on your memory...

Avoid the Chili seeds that's the stuff that gets you on the way out

If you have an existing digestive issue or GI problem, then it is possible that your body might not entirely break down the capsicum, and some might (might) pass through. This has nothing to do with the chillis though, and everything to do with having a poor digestive system to begin with.

The only way that you prep for this is to see your doctor and have the digestion issues dealt with. And if your doctor tells you to avoid spicy foods because they cause problems, then change doctors, because your doctor is a moron...
