It's the RIAA.
They have tracked you down.

Expect Apache helicopters and an assult team at your door.

First time I have heard this. Wish they would call me... could be quite fun.

Do you run peerblock/-guardian?

Unless you are infected with something this is basically impossible.

I've received emails as well saying that I must stop downloadinng certain content. Will it make tracing you more difficult if you paused the download intermittently?

Its not April and Im not a fool, so not sure what to say here :wtf:

Are you sure it's not the first of April?

It's possible. You'll be amazed at how much 'they' can monitor the end-user...without infecting you with anything...

I know exactly how much can be done, and without an infection, resolving an telephone number from an IP is impossible unless the persons machine is infected, or if 8ta is randomly giving out personal information. Since its unlikely 8ta would bother giving out personal information it only really leaves an infection.

Your internet connection and your MSISDN have got nothing to do with each other. So if they got hold of your number, it was not by u using data. So this scenario is not plausible unless you gave them the number or 8ta gave them the number, neither of which i think happened

You may have your number stored on your pc which is exposed to them via a virus or trojan

I've received emails stating the exact date, time and file(s) that I've downloaded... :wtf:

Yup, but those emails never had your telephone number in them. They can record your IP and times. Because you are connecting to an honeypot tracker or something, but they do not have the ability to get your phone number.

So now they've got your email address too?
Format, throw away your dongle and sell your pc. In fact, get ride of your contract, your landline and your cellphone too.

Agree. The networks also stopped MSISDN forwarding
