What would you consider the ways of getting a woman's number?

Bearing in mind, that you are a soft-spoken, shy person...
:(

Note:

Both jocks and nerds, have valuable input...
:)

Yes, I admit. I am a nerd, somewhat too "open" on a forum, but I can't help it. Take one look at e, and you would read me like an open book...
:( :o

Damn. Opened myself to onslaught of those not in a similar position.

Just read your blog.

Now I have to ask you a simple question? Firstly, how old are you? Secondly. What is the worst that could happen?

Do you get what I am saying?

What truly is the worst that could happen? Stop asking yourself the reasons and methods how to get a simple thing such as a lady's number and ask yourself what could happen?

She could throw you with her hair dryer over facebook? Not likely.

Could she maybe tell you she's not giving it to you? Most possibly, but then again, is it that bad? Maybe she doesn't deserve someone like you.

Secondly. No, it's not rude asking her number on Facebook chat or even MSN, that's how relationships are built> c o m m u n i c a t i o n. Got it?

Start being yourself and stop stressing about nonsense. If you are interested in her, get your act together, be a man and start talking and asking questions.

It's a BS theory to believe women want someone who can listen to them, they want someone to talk with them, not at them, get it?

I think I have also mentioned this before....

Woman when they are young want the Dirty criminal type of guys, once a woman has matured 21+ they want security. A man that has money, little looks and can provide for them in all aspects of life.

It's so easy to pick up woman older than 21 it's not even funny ;) The younger game is a little harder to crack (For the nerdy type)

Suck it up and let her know who your are what you do and where you want to see her and yourself in 10 years.... She'll melt like chocolate if you have the bank balance to support your claims :p

It's a good thing I am single through choice, because if a 21 year old woman wanted me for my money, it would be a major fail! I have none! ;) :D :p

Hey, there is a lid for every pot out there, your playing field is just a little smaller then :o But there is someone out there. If you have money the playing field is so big you don't have time for all of them :D

I'm also "single through choice tera"...pity it's not my choice:)

Edit:
After reading both your blogs i think you should just man up and do it.

Here's the comment i left on your blog:
Dude just ask for the number on facebook. a simple" i just realised that we never exchanged numbers after all this time...." should do the trick:)

Really it could not be any easier

Forget about the number - its just a detail. What are you going to do with it?

Are you following me?

Get some exchange going, start chatting, make plans NOW she'll give you her number cos you need it to call her to get together and carry out your plans... its a detail bud.

This thing of *getting the number* just sets you up for the next question you're going to post on MyADSL titled: 'Got her number... now what?'.
That will be followed by a few very depressing sms's and that'll be that.

Frankly if she's really switched on the most likely response to: "Can I have your number?" is: "Why?"
Are you ready to answer that?

Getting a girls number is very easy, the difficult part is finding a girls number you actually want.

Identity: I was gonna offer you some valued and priceless insight into the mind of a woman, but I note you only want comment from 'nerds and jocks'.

Clearly I am neither.

It is an unfortunate fact, but the soft-spoken, shy guy is not likely to get "that" number should he come up against someone who is not soft spoken or shy. Otherwise, you need to meet a soft-spoken, shy woman then...

Stop being bitchy and help the guy out - its women like you that probably turned him into a shy, soft-spoken guy...:D:p

... and it's guys like you that ... oh, nevermind! :D

@ Identity: What happened to the girl you took to the Ocean Basket? We even helped you plan your outfit and everything. What went wrong? And the girl you went to play tennis with?

By the way, some people find silent, shy, softspoken people mysterious and interesting. Capitalise on that.

1) Contrary to what I post online, I don't disseminate all my goings on...
2) Yes.

Are you a psychiatrist by any chance?
Thanks.
Insight with a little probing. Gave me an idea... :)

1) They are the same girl. Friends now. Preferred. :)
2) Thanks for that. :) Yet, others call those people "Emo". :D WHICH I'M NOT...

To add to this:

If your a shy soft spoken guy i would not suggest picking up chicks in a bar, most women respond to a confident go getter at club/pubs etc.

The worst is when a soft spoken guy who has been drinking (not soft or shy anymore) gets the number and he is so shy when he wakes up the next morning he never calls it.

Got to agree with teraside, what is the worst that can happen? just go out and ask her... if she says no, move on to the next girl...

I agree with this. It's a numbers game. (Sorry about the terrible pun).

My experience is that guys seem to think girls don't want to be dated and that getting them to date you is a huge challenge/conquest. They either like you or they don't. Ask, get response, move on based on on her response.

According to Pitbull, women older then 21 are "easy to pick-up"...... bull****, I don't agree!!

Not easier to pick up, but not looking for the outspoken jock :) If you are a shy, soft spoken guy like he says, then he stands a better chance with a woman who actually knows what she wants ;) Although Pitbull I would up the age to 25..

Its definitely a lot easier when you have a reason to call her. Organise to do something in a few days time, then tell her that you need her number in case the unthinkable happens and you need to postpone. None of that pesky "Why do you want my number?"
