Getting VDSL Upload speeds changed from 1Mb to 2Mb

Recently had my line converted from 20Mb ADSL to 20Mb VDSL. Download speeds are great however the upload speeds are only around 1Mb. I am led to believe that on VDSL this should be 2Mb.

My router is synching at 2Mb, however when running a speed test on SAIX i get the following

Upload Speed: 717 kbps (89.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Jitter: 7 ms

Tried my ISP, they say its not them, even gave me a test account to test with and i got the same results

Tried opening a fault using the telkom online tool, however the options are too generic, so all they do is reset the port and say problem solved.

Tried phoning them, they do the same thing and then when told there is no improvement they escalate it and give me a fault reference. I hear nothing from them, then a day or two later i check the fault tool and it says problem resolved. They have done this twice now.

Anybody got some advice on what i can do from here?

Yeah, so the simple explanation for this is the new system Telkom uses to sync up users at stable speeds. The new system will sync you connection at the best possible speed and in some cases it may be more/less than what you have signed up for. I have heard of people seeing the actual speed increases on speedtests but I have never heard of anyone that gained on the upload speed despite a higher sync rate. I use to have a 4Mbps DSL connection and my router synced up at 5Mbps always. That being said I didn't achieve 5Mbps download on any account I used. It still downloaded at the standard 4Mbps. I guess some people are just lucky and I highly doubt Telkom will see this as a fault.

I don't think this is his issue. His line is syncing at 2mbps upload. Most likely his line is still on a 20mbps ADSL profile, instead of a 20mbps VDSL profile. He should phone Telkom on 10210 and request a port reset and/or account refresh. I've had similar issues before, but affecting download speeds, where the line was upgraded from 4mbps to 10mbps but downloads were maxing out at about 3.8mbps.

Tend to agree with Saajid, however after the 10th fault has been closed as having been resolved i have no idea where to go from here. Even the links they give in the SMS to escalate the fault if it is not resolved just give a 404 message

Hellopeter should be a good next step. I tried this to get me removed from ASSIA. First try 2 days later and i was sorted.
