So I've decided I desperately need to get on the internet and play some games, but fortunately for great internet on this side of the world, there are complications.

I run my internet in Bridge mode so I can create pppoe connections (one international, one local using RouteSentry). I connect my laptop via cable to the router (I have a wireless network card that supports adhoc mode, too).

What hardware would I need to buy in order for my Wii to get online (but still have my router in bridge mode).

Lastly, how do games like Mario Kart run on a 384kbps line?

It all depends on your ping latency to the server and latency is not related to your line speed.

I managed to get my wii online using the pppoe connection on my pc, but it only works if only one connection is active (ie you cant have both your local and int connection active using routesentry)
But that doesnt matter since all the wii's traffic is international, so u can just connect your int account.

The process is as follows:
Share the international connection on your laptop
In the wii internet settings, enter in your wifi networks ssid
choose to manually input ip and enter in an ip range not used in your network as the ip, and enter the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0
then enter in your laptop's local network ip as the gateway and primary dns and leave the secondary dns blank

then test the connection

PS: All this is from memory, i dont have the wii anymore so i cant double check. I cant remember if the wii asks for gateway or dns or both, but either way just enter your laptop's network ip

I find best way to get Wii on the internet is to pee on the router... ;)

dont by that crap.. get yorself some REAL CONSOLE and get a PS3!!!
y buy a out-dated old techonology, all nicely repackage with rework, new design of controls.

I have PPOE icons on my desktops on my PC, laptop and my wifes laptop. Also a VPN type connection to my work on both my PC and my laptop. Hence my modem is brdiged. Because, I will click on the icon based on what I want to do, Surf the net or work. So, my xBox and my Wii now do not have an internet conection. So every time I want to go online with my consoles, I have to change my ADSL modem setting. Any help? I have another issue about sharing / newtworking, but lets get this sorted out first.

I saw this nifty little USB to ethernet converter in the October issue of Techsmart. Was a bit sceptic if the thing would work after I got it from Matrix warehouse.

I plugged it into the Wii and connected it to my router, the 2 lights started flashing on the ETHERWE and bang connected to the internet after like 10 seconds. Could not believe it was so easy....

Glad I got this because I was really bumed when I could not get it working with the wireless.
