GHD at Edgars?

aahh, thank you!! My hub has spent over 6k on his pc because Battlefield3 just didnt *look* the same as his friends...

Well now, in all honesty.... it is Battlefield, afterall;-)

HFS! Are those things going for R1999- already!!! When we bought my wife's, they were like R1200-, and that's not even that long ago!

That's just wrong hey!!!!

Don't buy the GHD, rather buy the Cloud9. My GF's GHD broke last year and the salon recommended that she buys the Cloud9 instead. She now swears by it. Says it is much better than the GHD in every single way.

@Swift-wp : A colleague of mine wants to know where your girlfriend bought her Cloud 9 thingy. She wants one, but haven't been able to track down a place in Gauteng that actually sell them.

Well she bought hers while we were still staying in CPT. However, I have seen a Hair Salon which my GF goes to in Sandton City who stocks them. I can't get to the name of the Salon but it is diagonally opposite the FNB branch in the banking court. I hope that helps. :)

EDIT: According to her, the Cloud9 doesn't burn your hair like the GHD but rather adds a kind of glossy shine. Also, you can set it to use multiple temperatures while the GHD only has one temperature setting.

Ghd is not a waste of money... Its a quality product. My gf jas had hers for over 3 years. She uses it regularly and its still like new.If she got a cheaper one it would she would have probably replaced it..

Beg to differ but then again who am I to say this, perhaps someone that has a SO in the industry. Its an overpriced product and the only reason why hair salons like my SO uses them is to impress clients and not because of quality.

Other issue I have is that the risk of buying a fake product is very high, even from salons.

My wife has owned a number of the cheaper brands over the years. She always felt that they worked well, until her niece used a GHD on her hair a few months ago. Suddenly we had to spend R1699 (approx) on a hair iron. My wife is still adamant that its worth every cent.

In my wifes opinion, although the GHD is an expensive product, it works better than anything else she has ever tried.
I tried to convince her to buy a Tony & Guy for about 20% of the GHD price, but her mind was made up.

Look there is a difference in quality between a R200 iron and a R1000+ iron but at R1K they are all the same. As long as the plates dont have any gaps when you close the iron, its all the same.

Ive often commented on this forum that the real value in GHD is not their iron but their products which anyway need to be used each time an iron is used.

ebucks had then for R1450 recently for the standard Gold - gone now by the looks of it.
