I have an existing Cellc GigaNite sim, and I just want to find out if it's possible to recharge with another giga package on the existing sim without buying a new one.

Can it be done using the cellc ussd string?

I know Cell C had launched some prepaid Giga Nite plans (1GB, 2GB, etc). I purchased the Giga Nite 1GB (R49). Loaded airtime onto the sim card, converted the airtime to the 1GB package through USSD (*147#), and it worked for me.

I am not sure if you can load the GigaNite 20 again and all.

I'm currently using the Giga200 package, wanted to know if i could just load airtime onto the sim and convert that into a GigaNite bundle instead of going through the whole RICA process again.

Do the *147# thing and see if it's an option.

EDIT: My (voice) prepay SIM only gives 1GB Giganite@ R49 and 2GB Giganite @ R 99

ask the REP if they could possibly do it from their side.
Highly doubt it is possible you've to buy a new Giganite SIM CARD and do a SIM Swop :) That is the advice I can possibly give you purchase a giganite sim card, then do a sim swop immediately that way you don't loose your existing number

Thanks, will PM the cellc guy on the forums.

Hi Romito I'm unable to reply to your PM. A GigaNite bundle is preloaded into a sim. You wont be able to recharge midnight data. You can however still top-up daytime data. Or buy another GigaNite sim. *DM*

Too bad only 1Gig and 2Gig night time data is available, would of loved to go the 10Gig

When I check my prepaid sim, I only have the options for the 1Gig and 2Gig night bundles, but here at the site :http://www.cellc.co.za/giganite, I see there is also an option for a 10Gig and 20Gig. Can someone please tell me how do we go about buying that 10Gig and 20Gig bundles.

To to a cell c shop and ask for the giganite contract. Its not available at resellers but maybe you can buy it from a cell c sales consultant. Also be careful when downloading overnight because once your midnight data is use up it wont default to using your daytime data even if you have some left over. The midnight data and daytime data are managed separately and the out-of-bundle rate is R0.15/mb or about R150/gb which is better than the other networks generally but still more expensive than on-bundle. Once you have run out of airtime you can purchase bolt-on prepaid bundles but not double up unless you take out another contract. Apparently you can load giganite onto an existing phone contract but i'm not sure if you can load more than one on the same sim. Overnight data is a really smart idea and other networks are catching up to the idea. Overnight calling minutes not so hot imo.

Would of loved it if the 10 and 20Gig was also available on prepaid.

I'm looking for the Giga200 and simply can't find it anywhere, actually I have trouble finding anything from CellC especially here in the Freestate.

Having the option to simply buy the stuff via prepaid would solve a lot of problems of "availability". Think it's CellC's main problem atm, they have great deals that simply isn't accessible enough.

I don't know about the giga200 but value is always lower on a contract. surely there is a cell c shop in bloem and if they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist.
