Ok, let me explain... SLI means you run 2 or more nVidia cards, Crossfire means you run 2 or more AMD Cards (AMD took over ATI).
Now a board that supports SLI cannot run Crossfire, and Vise Versa ... so the XFX 790i will run nVidia cards in SLI, but not AMD Cards in Crossfire (It will however run a single AMD card),
The Asus Rampage Formula is based on the Intel X48 chipset, which will run AMD Cards in Crossfire, but not nVidia cards in SLI (But it will run a single nVidia card) ... hope this makes sense![]()
