GitHub launches Copilot programming assistant

GitHub has released its AI programming assistant Copilot for use in Visual Studio, VS Code, Neovim, and the JetBrains suite.

Developers can sign up for a 60-day free trial, after which they must subscribe for $10 per month or $100 per year.

Copilot is like having an over-eager junior developer sitting next to you who is always making suggestions. Still a great tool though for some uses.

Copilot... Hmm, a tool for lazy programmers...
Gone are the days of writing pure assembly and low-level code... Everything is a API these days...
Everyone wants to write their own JavaScript spin-off... How many languages are there now? Too many, if you ask me...
How is Copilot going to keep up with all these languages, from Rust to Julia? Does Copilot include support for esoteric languages, such as brain****?
