GLC 220d 4 Magic 2018 Engin light on

Hi everyon. I have a glc 220d and the battery was changed because it was dead with no charg. However my engin light is on and when they checked it it gave faults like doors and windows and sunroof but all these work fine. Any suggestions as to what I need to do to remove this don’t want to go to MB they will kill me with there prices.

When Honda Tygervalley changed the battery from a honda branded to a SABAT. The fittings did not fit the terminals. Got the same issues as you. Went to midas, bought standard battery connectors, no issue since.

Anyone with an OBD tool can clear the codes for you.

With modern cars like this, when a battery is changed the computer needs to be told a new battery is in the car in order for it to charge the battery at the correct voltage.

From your description sounds like it could be the old battery triggered the error and the errors were not reset when fitting the new battery.

Best bet would be to clear all the codes, phone Merc and ask them how much to clear all the codes for you. Then call a few reliable independents for a price. Pick one that you feel is the best price to value.
