This report claims that Global Trader (GT247.com) don't have an admin fee for their trading account. I went to their website and all accounts I found have monthly admin fees. Can somebody registered with them confirm? I want to invest not trade, so I want an account with low maintenance fees. According to the above report my best choices are GT247.com and Imara in that order. I want to rule out GT247.com if they in fact do have a monthly admin fee.

Forget GT24, go with Dukascopy EU or FXOpen. Both offer CDFs, Equities and Forex, and you get charged a commission fee each trade, as well as nightly rollovers for forex pairs.

Nothing to surprise you with at the end of the month.

I'm looking at buying equities only, do those platforms allow me to invest on the JSE?

JSE have their own trading platform. I'm a bit skeptical doing it through an international broker when the JSE is within driving range...

Unfortunently, FXOpen and Dukascopy EU do not allow you to trade on the JSE.

If all you want to trade is equities (actual stocks not CFDs etc) then rather open a stockbroking account with your bank.

Check with the brokers. I am with BOE and if you make 1 trade in 3 months then there is no monthly fee, else it is R99/m I think

Standard bank online share trading for me is still the best. Their fees are not expensive and plus they offer free online and live courses. Regarding GT24, can one trade shares from the New York Stock Exchange? Or maybe even trade commodities such as soy or wheat?
