Glue for Glass

Found replacement jug from RH supplier in JHB.

R200 for jug, R150 for shipping and VAT on top. Total R400
Hey RedViking,

Mind if I ask for precise supplier details? I need to replace my one lol.

Thanks in advance,

Not to hijack this thread but my fridge's glass shelf broke the plastic broke on the Edge and I no longer can use the shelf. Last time I checked a new Shelf costs over R1500 which I'm not willing to pay for a 10 year old fridge.

scan gumtree or facebook market... there is always someone looking for old appliances, reach out to them ... sure they will have your model's shelf....

I didn't break it. One of the ladies from the domestic service broke it. My theory is, it has those sticky feet that secured to the table. She tried to grab it, but the bottom part got mostly stuck and then the glass went flying. Or she tried to force it from the table and the glass went flying.

I'll draw it for you

Shame, poor darling gonna cut her feet...

no shoes or socks

You people are a bit late.

Manufacturer just sent me new glass unit. Had to pay for it but was cheaper than a new machine or glue it and watch someone's face being ruined.

Oh wait, sorry @Polymathic , it was in fact the unknown that revived this thread with a RELATED question. Which I almost missed due to your hijack.

:p

I emailed these guys: Service Dbn <[email protected]>

Now that I addressed the related question, lets see to the elephant in the room.

You can just 3D print some plastic edges (doesn't have to be one long continues edge, or go to your local hardware or wood store and grab some of those thick rectangular brackets. Glue them with superman glue to the fridge.

They look like this but solid plastic with two holes for screws. Couple of cm's long:

UV cure Glass bonding glue would be best but not so cheap or easy to get hold of.

Good idea, I never thought of modifying the fridge itself to fit other shelving but that could be an option.
