Gmail App in Android 4.2.2: no zooming

I can't zoom in or out in my messages in the gmail app, despite running Android 4.2.2 (AOSP) on my Galaxy Note 2. I have downloaded the latest update from the Play store...is there somethibg I am missing? I thought zooming was a new feauture of Gmail in Jellybean 4.2?

I'm not entirely sure (don't have my phone on me to check) but I think you might have to turn on the auto-fit messages option in the Gmail app's settings.

Just looked at my N4 on 4.2.2 (baked_mako_bb-8) ... an you are correct, no pinch zoom functionality in GMail App. But indeed there is an "autofit" setting...

The autofit setting does provide limited pinch-to-zoom capability...
