Gmail broken?

Hi guys,
I have a gmail account and if I get 2 or more messages in a similar time frame they mesh into one inbox message.. meaning when i check e-mail and look at message their are multiple messages in 1 email...
Is it a setting? How do I change?

Are both emails from the same person with same subject?

Gmail attempts to group mails together as threads. As sn3rd as said if they are from the same person with a same/similar subject then they are grouped together "by design".

It sometimes get's this wrong and it can be irritating. Maybe you/we should suggest this as a Labs feature because I don't think it's a setting.

I guess this is why it's still in beta

well they are from different people but same subject as they are replys from gumtree!
