Gmail launches mobile java app

Sweet, thanks for telling us ;) I need a new phone! :D

Maybe your phone not supported yet? Syndre - what model do you have, & chiskop?

I don't think its for us :(

when i try to go to the app's page (gmail.com/app) I'm redirected to another google mobile page that just talks about mobile search.
You are accessing it from a cellphone browser right?

EDIT - you'll need to click on the Get faster gmail link at the top.

Works fine with my SE W800i, although it didn't work initially when I tried to access it from Opera Mini, had to go to the link using the phone's browser.

Mobile Mail on Samsung D900 - No Go!!!

I downloaded the App and executed it on my phone. After entering my login details the GMail Java App displayed the following message -

"Sorry, the Gamil mobile app will not work on your phone. Your phone doesn't have the appropriate certificate to communicate with Gmail. Try accessing Gmail on your mobile browser at http://m.gmail.com"

Thought I'd just share this - THANKS FOR A GR8 FORUM!

:p :p

6680 - Does not work

The ap loads but gives a "unexpected error" when you try to access your mailbox.

Ssl

Maybe your phone doesn't support SSL connections?

I think it does; I am able to create a secure connection for internet banking using the built-in browser. It might be that the normal Java apps are not allowed a SSL connection; but I wouldnt really know.

Not sure, mine never even queried a certificate or anything, just asked for net access like all java apps and then worked perfectly.

Worked just fine on my Razr and - disregarding the absolute pointlessness of it on this particular device - just as well on my Blackberry.

I downloaded and installed it on my Nokia 6230.

After logging in, it displays "Checking mail", after that I get the following error message:

"This program requires a working data connection ... Please check your signal strength."

My internet connection on my phone is work fine. I am using the phone's Wap Browser and Opera Mini without any problems.

When I downloaded the program, the download screen had a message : "US and Canada Only".

Could this be the problem?
Maybe it checks the IP address and sees it is not in the allocated range of IP adresses for the US and Canada.

Can anyone dowload attachments? I had problems trying to download some applications so I just gave up. If the download feature is not yet supported I hope GMail include this in the full version...since the current is still in beta.
