For about more than a week I've been battling with Gmail being slow on MTN and CellC.

It's really getting annoying and painful now.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue?

Must be more to do with MTN & Cell C (wireless networks).
Gmail's been very stable for me via ADSL, both accessing Gmail accounts, and getting my mails forwarded to Windows 7 Mail (i.e. like the old Outlook Express).

I also experienced this--try clearing your browser cache; it sometimes works. If you have enabled https then it will also load slowly; Gmail extensions also make it load slowly; enabling chat and all the other buzz paraphernalia is also one reason I see Gmail loading slowly.

I'm struggling at the moment as well. But only today...and via MWEB

I found logging in was slow, but once in it seemed better. (using Afrihost ADSL)

Gmail through a browser has been slow for over two months now.

i also been experiencing this, but seems to be improving slowly, can't complain since my isp terms don't allow me access through pop/imap, only web allowed.

I've since realised after posting this thread I have a few Chrome bugs.

Chrome is stuck on "waiting for Gmail.com" which is an issue known on the web with no real solution.
I also have the Error 3 when checking for updates to Chrome with no real solution (even reinstall doesn't fix it).

So until that's fixed the issue will remain.

slow on MTN

I have also had problems with Gmail on MTN in the last two weeks both on my PC (firefox 4) and on my phone (GMail symbian app). This leads me to believe it is a problem with MTN considering other people are not having trouble with Gmail.

On my PC it refuses to log (i.e. loads forever) but it usually works after several attempts. My chat in Gmail also periodically loses its connection.
