Gmail Painfully Slow- Anyone else?

I have also had problems with Gmail on MTN in the last two weeks both on my PC (firefox 4) and on my phone (GMail symbian app). This leads me to believe it is a problem with MTN considering other people are not having trouble with Gmail.

On my PC it refuses to log (i.e. loads forever) but it usually works after several attempts. My chat in Gmail also periodically loses its connection.

I check Gmail on my phone with MTN and it also takes a few attempts each day before it loads, on full signal HSDPA. There's definitely something up with Gmail and MTN. My Gmail on CellC on my pc is almost instant since about 2 days ago.

I can confirm that I'm seeing an issue with GMail being slooooooooow on MTN 3G. Dog slow. It's worse in Opera than in Firefox. I've tried turning labs off, etc. etc., and nothing works. MTN need to address this issue??

Gmail is sporadically slow. Not in receiving mail, but in web browser response.

-OFTEN- I find I click on a message and it shows "Loading" at the top. And I wait. And wait. I click it again. And I wait. At this point I sometimes get the "Oops" block pop up telling me that my message could not be loaded, or else I refresh the page, and the message opens instantly once the page finally refreshes. It has been doing this for a L-O-N-G time already. I have the problem at home on my PC (was on MWeb, now on Cybersmart) and on my work notebook (my office uses Neotel).

I know Google have many many servers all over the world. My guess is it just depends which one you happen to be connecting to in your particular session. If it's slow, refresh. It usually helps me.

Also, I know (and am grateful) that it's free, but I wish they would sort this out as it frustrates me when it happens.

I use to have the slow Gmail problem. Either changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google) OR changing ISP sorted my problem.

Yep - me too - MTN sim in Voda 3G stick.
Managed to get it to actually load by clearing cache, and switching it to plain HTML once things started appearing.
Still won't load actual messages, but I can at least clear out stuff I don't want to download prior to firing up my e-mail client.
Thunderbird Mail happily negotiates with GMail and gets all my messages, so it is a bit odd.

For about more than a week I've been battling with Gmail being slow on MTN and CellC.

It's really getting annoying and painful now.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue?
