Gmail stalls on send?

I've been using Gmail for years with little trouble. I recently upgraded my PC and am now running XP Pro with SP3.

For some weeks now I have experienced that when replying to emails, Gmail often 'stalls', and gives me a notice 'still working' once I have hit the send button. This stall condition lasts several minutes or until I take action. The only remedy seems to be to log out of Gmail, at which stage I am warned that I will lose whatever I have been working on. When I accept the warning I am logged out, on logon I can check my sent folder and the mail has actually been sent.

This occurs more often than not, when I send mail. Is this a Gmail or SP3 issue, if SP3 issue how to I get my machine back to SP2?

Which browser are you using and have you tried clearing your browser's cache directories etc?

Also what ISP are you using?

I have found that Gmail only does that to me from home (Cybersmart) but not from work (telkom). I use FF at home and IE at work for browsers.

I'm using Firefox 3.0.11 , Vodacom as my ISP. Cache is cleared fairly regularly.

1) Upgrade to FF 3.5 or use Chrome for your Gmail.
2) Install Google Gears and see if you can run your gmail in its own Gears Window (as an application from your desktop) - Gears here... http://gears.google.com/
3) Upgrade your Java and Flash...

Could there be any issues maybe relating to potential proxies? Maybe there is some weird proxy config screwing up that.
