good day to everyone here...

Does anyone know how i can get past the costumer care call center and speak to someone more senior to sort out all the issues i'm having with my car...

i mean they don't give out any info and when you do send a mail to them for support they just ignore a person...

would it be better if i just go to their office in midrand or just mail or fight with them over the phone...

do you know what was the outcome of that...

well in my situation.. they are unable to fix my car after damn i've lost count how many time they have tried and they can't fix the damn car..
and now cause they can't fix the car they come and give me the most pathetic excuses and faults...

it went as far and their complain stating it's against their policies to have different brands of tires..

i'm currently driving the car.... it's a OPEL Astra GTC turbo... from date of purchase it's been back and forth to the dealerships... started off and CHM east rand and then GM Alberant and now it's in my hands cause GMSA has revoked my motor plan... and i'm positive that if i take in for the repairs it's going to cost me a new motor or something that.. which GMSA for obvious resons will not replace at their own cost...

Yikes! Sounds like your Astra is a complete dud and they are not willing to help you out with it. If the car gives so much trouble they should give you a new one under warranty - I know of one instance where they did this for a friend of mine with a Corsa Lite that was completely up to sh1z all the time. Its best if you take this up with the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa: http://www.miosa.co.za

I'm a fan of Opel but have not had a GM dealer touch my car since 2005. Something that is about to change now that I have a new Corsa D. Hope you can whip them into shape for the rest of us.

I have gone to all the chanels you can think of instead of going public about their useless service..

put it this way....

engine is smoking.. engine miss firing.. under powered... ( changed tapet covers, head gasket, coil packs and ignition pack or something like that )
engine loosing oil - topped up oil at their dealership and got it back... then it had to go back again 2000 km's for the other problems and they sealed the sump.. surelly they should ahve done that before.. anyway... 4000 km's later i've lost half the sump oil already.. but there is no trase of oil on the floor... so where is that oil going..
steering vibrating when driving and braking... taking it for wheel alignment 5 times in 2 months... and they have done their changes..
engine over heating.. and the list will go on...
i mean if you had to see the repair list from the moment that i bought the vehicle up to current date... you would be shocked... i've had the car for 3 years been fighting for 3 years and now that i've decieded to put more pressure on them they revoked my motor plan....

Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa done nothing for me other then be the middle man.. and when i send replies to him and ask for answers i get nothing out of it... this final decision from GMSA they sent the letter off to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa and said case closed and the ombudsman just agreeded to it.. not even giving me form or a defence..

well i'm in plans of going to the news papers and carte blanch and 702 about this.. and GMSA consultant told me to do he doesn't care.. i have sent them mails about their service hello peter and all that.. GMSA now just ignores me..

Your oil usage is due to the car smoking - its burning oil. The vibration when braking sounds like warped brake discs. The over heating could be due to the oil burning but my limited experience with Opels always left coolant traces under the car when they overheated :)
To get your car fixed I'd say the engine needs to be overhauled (to stop the smoking and oil usage) and you need new brakes.
Do you have difficulty with the gears in the car? Sticky shifts and difficulty engaging gears?

Sound me that either this car has got a very bad engine built early on a Monday by a moegoe with a massive hang over or it has been driven to heel and back right after a cold start. The latter would be GMSA's reasoning for not wanting to work on the car any more.

hope you can get sorted out bro

spread the word as much as possible, the less ppl that buy opels the better
(sorry roux, i couldnt resist)

Dont confuse the dealerships with GMSA. Its two totally different places. the only Dealerhsips that GMSA themselves own ( and have any say over) are the Chevrolet ones.

:D no problem.
I know a bit of what Opels tend to do and I have given mine some hard times and they are still good. But not every car is like that and you get duds from all makers. In some USA states they have a lemon law - if your car is a total dud and it goes back to the shop a few times then they should give you a new one. Now the interesting thing is that the first URL that sprang to mind was this one : http://www.myvwlemon.com/ :p

Hi Techi.

Did you mod your car in anyway?
Have you also serviced it at every interval? Why did GMSA revoke your warranty?

lol

every brand of car will always have people thats not happy
in fact its not just limited to cars

Roux... they have done the discs and pads like 30000km ago... the brake pads get done every service..
yes the gears a sticky most of the times..
well if that's the case of the oil burning then it's going to cost R80000-00 to fix that car.. and i'm sorry i don' thave that kind of money to spend on something that has been a pain since the date of purchase....

well starting the car and letting it ilde for some time and driving off that's what i do.. i look after my car...

thanks Rodga.. i'm trying but no one GMSA is moving or doing something about it.. now that they have canceld the motor plan they couldn't care less.. even thou the job that they done wasn't completed..
