GMSA costumer care...!!!

Hi Obelix... yes they did say why they cancelled the motor plan.....
1 - my tired of different brand
2 - i have a bubble on my back tired which can barelly notice
3 - i installed a sub box in the boot
4 - i installed a boost gauge 2 1/2 years ago to show them what was happening with my turbo ( where was i going to mount the boost gauge ) there is a whole in the air vent...
5 - i left the after market cylicon pipe from the boost gauge cause i refused to pay R300-R400 for their factory pipe if i only needed like 5 cm;s of it..

now where does any of this stated have anything to do with a engine loosing oil... mis firing, under powered and so on??? to my knowledge.. nothing.. not even Sagie from 702 understands what that has anything to do with the engine...

hi xrapid..... i have not touched the engine what so ever.. nothing i wouldn't even dream of doing something like that.. cause i knew what it would do.. but if you call installed a boost gauge to show the mechnics what a turbo is doing then i don't know.. i have removed that boost gauge soone after they replaced my turbo.. so was i meant to cover the wholes...

hi mypro-d yes it's gone for the correct service intervals... i have done all the correct things to make sure that i keep the motor plan till the end which was going to be now in november.. coincendence hey... it's one month left and now they cancel is cause they can't solve the issues... other then that i have never done anything to car.. nothing and i refuse to.. i put my car on the dyno to show GMSA that there is something wrong with the car and when i got my graph.. well!!!!!!!!!!! that answered alot of questions.

Well, from your previous posts it looks like you have raced the car, or dragged with her. You also posted on one of my old posts about doing mods to the enngine etc.
Now this is the thing, if you have modded the car in ANYWAY, exhaust, downpipe, software or whatever. Legally they are right and you cannot do anything. GMSA are a funny bunch in terms of customer service and I can promise you they wont chase you away without a VALID point that will stand. Its too damaging to them. I think there is something you are not telling us here, GMSA obviously have a very strong leg to stand on and have valid reason to revoke your motorplan, otherwise they would not chase you away.

hi rodga... fear enough that all makes of vehicles have their faults.. but i really liked this vehicle.. it looks cool and i've wanted a 2 door car... and a turbo... but when the car keeps on braking and braking how can someone not complain about the vehicle....
i mean i bought the car in november the dealership done their work to install the extras.. i drove the car 50Km or so and my engine died.. first day of driving.. and then from 468 Km onwards it's been changing this and changing that... 468 Kms on the clock..

Maybe some of us should go and inquire about buying a new Opel Astra and take it for a test drive and all... then just as we are about to sign the deal we show the salesman this thread and back out of the deal. :D

That should draw some attention! ;)

I have an older model Opel Astra Euro Estate 2.0l Station Wagon.... and apart from a few rattles due to various bumps over the years it is still a great car. Fast as a bat out of hell. I would buy another one in a heartbeat... except for your story.

Yeah, unfortunately you modified your car, not much you can do. You cant have it both ways - you cant support the manufacturer to pay for your mistakes.

Yip - sound suspect to me. You can't hold GM responsible for you modifying your car.

hi Mypro-d yes that's true have asked about doing the mods to the car.. but i have not done it... for this reason.... i like to enquire about things before doing it...i'm not goign to ly about it yes i drive the car when i want to drive it.. but racing and doing stupidy things i have other cars to do something like that..

On my life i promise that i have not changed / done anything to the car...this is my every day car.. and i need it to be reliable.. and when people start opening up their motors for what ever reason that's when the issues start... but i need my car for everyday driving and weekends....
well what ever reason they have i would like to see it.. because to me they are the ones that have done something to the car and now are putting the blame on me..

I have no doubt that your car is a dud - straight from the factory - unfortunately you voided your warranty by modding it. That is always the risk with mods, not that the mod itself will mess up things, but that something else might stuff up and then you have a void warranty.

As I said before I know of one guy that is really ticked off at Reeds for messing about with his Captiva but luckily it was still under warranty. I also know of another person that got a new car because their Corsa Lite just had endless problems and GMSA said it would be better to replace the car. This is however only possible if you have a warranty that is still valid.

In my case GMSA did do a lot for me when I still had my car with them. They paid 50% for a new aircon compressor on a car that was out of warranty and 25% on a new sump (by bad for wrecking the old one). All of this was out of goodwill, not because they had too. But I do believe some dealerships try to screw people.

how can installing a boost gauge to show the mechanics what's wrong with the car be modifying a car..??if their state of the art computers can't pick the fault then what must a costumer do...????
turbo was changed at 40000 km.. is that's normal..

and how do they know you didn't do any other modifying?

hi roux... well the issues have never stopped.. and the motor plan was going to end this november coming... but wat does installating a boost gauge have anything to do with engines loosing oil and all the rest..

they can go and get a ly detector and test me on it.. i have got nothing to hide from GMSA... i have been a honest client to them and i have not lyed to GMSA abotu anything that has been done to the car...

As I said before - I do believe your car was a dud straight out of the factory - it happens. Sadly because you modified it the warranty was voided. If you took the case to the ombudsman before modding the car you might have had a better success rate. GMSA does replace cars that are very troublesome, they are legally bound to do that by the warranty.

the car have been bought with their specs and has stayed with their specs.. i have only replaced tires on the vehicle myself.. nothing else.. i refuse to even open up the bonite to check what's happening there.. not even at the garage i let the guys open up the bonite...

you see that that's funny thing about thie car.. it's been in GMSA's case book since January 2008 way way before i installed the boost gaueg... also to add to this.. i asked GMSA costumer care and the mechanic and CMH east if i could install this..obviouslyi don't have it in writing.. who would know that this car would end up like this... he did say yes.. i installed it.. removed it shortly after... fine the car is dud... why can't GMSA accept that it's a dud then...

so in other words.. if GMSA can't fix the car after they have tried the costumer must jsut live with the issue and keep on filling up GM pockets... that's jsut unfair...

Dude, GMSA will NOT remove a warranty without a VALID excuse or reason to do so. It wont stand up in court if you decided to take it that far. Hence the reason they do not care, they obviously have something or know of something on the car that they can say was done etc in order for them to do so.
I've been in Opels ever since a baby ( Parents have always driven them ) and have never ever had any problems besides my clutch that failed this year.
Bottom line is- GMSA will win. They will take the pipe for example, even though you and I know that it does nothing to damage the car, if your vehicle is under warranty it states that all items must be replaced with FACTORY parts or OEM parts. Right there, you just lost your warranty if the guys want to be real *******s. Nevermind the boost gauge etc.
