Nope they weren't registered before.

Slightly OT, when I moved to CT in '99, people came to my place to ask if I'm registered properly in the area. I said no, so they took down my details and registered me. I think they did it all on the spot - can't remember them coming back later.

Has that happened to anybody else?

Then as ID13 suggests, check their ID for the registration sticker.

So get proof. That sticker in his ID book is proof. "The holder of ID number [ID] Applied for voting registration in Voting district [number] [barcode] [Date & Time of registration]"
Just have a look at that Date & Time on the sticker...

If it is today's date ... someone might lose their job!

Yup. So come now Pooky, get hold of the ID book like Id13 suggested and scan the image(or pic) if they were only registered today. Should prove interesting.
