54-year-old Timothy Butler of Utah has admitted to molesting two children, but claims that the Bible gave him permission.

According to Raw Story, Butler molested two girls, a five year old, and a six or seven year old between 2008 and 2011. He also watched porn with the children present.

Butler did not dispute the charges, telling the judge “the Bible did not set limits on the ages between two partners, and that God will set the truth free.”

There is no perversion on earth that cannot be excused somewhere in the bible (or quran).

Thanks, learned something new.

So you're saying the bible can be wrong?
Romans 13
Let every persona be in subjection to the superior authorities,a for there is no authority except by God;b the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God.c 2 Therefore, whoever opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will bring judgment against themselves. 3 For those rulers are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad.d Do you want to be free of fear of the authority? Keep doing good,e and you will have praise from it; 4 for it is God’s minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear, for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword. It is God’s minister, an avenger to express wratha against the one practicing what is bad.
5 There is therefore compelling reason for you to be in subjection, not only on account of that wrath but also on account of your conscience.f 6 That is why you are also paying taxes; for they are God’s public servants constantly serving this very purpose. 7 Render to all their dues: to the one who calls for the tax, the tax;g to the one who calls for the tribute, the tribute; to the one who calls for fear, such fear;h to the one who calls for honor, such honor.i
8 Do not owe anything to anyone except to love one another;j for whoever loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law.k 9 For the law code, “You must not commit adultery,l you must not murder,m you must not steal,n you must not covet,”o and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this saying: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”p 10 Love does not work evil to one’s neighbor;q therefore, love is the law’s fulfillment.r
11 And do this because you know the season, that it is already the hour for you to awake from sleep,s for now our salvation is nearer than at the time when we became believers. 12 The night is well along; the day has drawn near. Let us therefore throw off the works belonging to darknesst and let us put on the weapons of the light.u 13 Let us walk decentlyv as in the daytime, not in wild partiesa and drunkenness, not in immoral intercourse and brazen conduct,bw not in strife and jealousy.x 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,y and do not be planning ahead for the desires of the flesh.z

Apparently timothy can't read or thinks his doing his neighbours a favour but the quoted chapter clearly states that Timothy is wrong.

Even if it was in the bible, we as evolved (see what I did there), humans know it's wrong.

So are many other things in the "holy" scriptures of any religion.

there's no age limit but there is an age minimum though

So what does the bible say about sex outside of marriage?

If it is with your daughters, not a problem :D

Genesis 19:30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

It would be awesome if the judge dug up something obscure in the Bible to sentence this man to death by stoning.

Yeah, no

I would prefer him to rot in prison, preferably with a BBC to keep him company at night.

I don't mean actually stone him to death, I mean get him to realize that if we took all parts of the Bible literally, we would have to stone him to death.

But yeah, admittedly he won't be able to understand that or see the error of his ways yet.

So what does the bible say about sex outside of marriage?

That hero of the bible, King Solomon, had 700 wives and 300 concubines so sex outside marriage, for males anyway, was not a problem. The real reason that the Church abolished poygamy was that it left too many heirs when a man died with the consequent difficulty of the Church getting control of his assets. Same with priests marrying which was fine until the middle ages when a succession of popes made marriage increasingly harder for priests before outlawing it altogether.

The Jimmy Savile Experience

The Vatican has revealed that Jimmy Savile was only two rapes away from getting his own Parish!
