Hi bullfrog, I'm still trying to determine why it doesn't work for some users. Can you tell me what modem you are using? This app is written in Adobe Flex 2 and since I am experimenting with the framework it will help me to understand possible hitches.

I also stuggled to get it to work until I enabled the adsl proxy on dsl-cache.saix.net on port 8080.

You are brilliant! Now how did you figure that out mikef? Do you have the inside story of why this fixes the problem, or is this a cure-all for comms problems?

Stop the boat, it only works if I send myself an sms, if I try and send to another number it fails I've got cellc selected, but I'm with VM

Mmm... I suggest you do some pioneering and email their support, asking to add Virgin Mobile to the list. I am with Vodacom, just SMS'd someone at MTN, no problem.

Try www.smsworx.co.za, it's not free but works great, you can send single or bulk sms and prices are quite good. Prices range from 27c to 33c per sms.
