Going to start running at 5 am

I LOVE to run, too bad I have a genetic problem with my ankle where the bone swells up (due to friction) when I jog too much. But so I'm stuck with driving around on my bike

So waar can I buy a cheap pair of takkies? Forgot the builders stole my old pair

So you would have gotten up before 05:00 this morning .......... and then realised you do not have running shoes ?

By the way, do not buy "a cheap pair of takkies" ... you'll ruin your feet in the process.

Good grief. Don't go cheap. You will seriously regret it later. Decent shoes are expensive for a reason. You will end up with all sorts of knee problems later if your going to do lots of running in cheap shoes.

By cheap I mean decent....im not going to spend R1000 bloody shoes. Im a student! :D I have some addidas shoes...but they more for tennis.

I would rather start on Monday and plan it with that day. Have a 21st this weekend so don't want to be sore :)

I've been through that. First it was Monday. Then the start of a new week, then it was the start of the new month. You'll never start like that. Just start any day, any time and stick to it.

No no I understand completely! No its just I 'work' that way though for some reason. I will do it promise :D

Dude good on you!Do it...I've been getting up at 5h25 in the morning 5 days a week for the last 3 months...still working on getting my eating right as that is the MOST important...it can make all your effort go to waste or waist..lol.

You feel more refreshed and less stressed and just READY for the day! Plus, to see the sun rise in ALL that QUIET is something that makes you appreciate life even more...and I get to make breakfast for my wife and be done by 7ish...

BUT...since the birth of my daughter 3 weeks ago its a struggle to get up at 5...as I'm so tired...for the past 3 weeks I've been to the gym 3 times!!! I feel BAD if I don't go...I'll have to do something and work something out, it just takes that ONE foot out of bed and then you're off..my wife comes to wake me each morning... "Are you gona go gym?" she asks...a tired..."n n noooo" is the reply and I open my eyes at 7!

I really don't think it's good for you, way to much impact stress compared to swimming which has just about zero impact. See lots of older joggers with fooked joints. Oh, and it's boring as hell and you might get run over by a taxi.

There's nothing better for you than some fresh air and exercise early in the morning... Impact stress? Unless you run with wooden shoes, definately not... the body is built for running!

But you know what is REALLY stupid? ....

People running next to busy roads in rush hour traffic - deeply inhaling all the poisonous exhaust fumes!
I see dumb people...

I've got one rule, only one rule for jogging:

It needs to be downhill!

But doing something feels good. I didn't do any exercise during the winter cause my face would go ice cold, but starting now I'm fitter than I was even though I skipped for three months.

ok i walked from Ysterplaat to Maitland. caught a taxi to Elsiesrivier. caught a taxi back to Maitland and walked back to Ysterplaat. i am now done for the month.
