Saw a truckload of them being delivered to the VW in Centurion CBD yesterday. Anyone know what the prices are?

Golf 7 GTI hasnt been announced yet.

Lol, the launch in SA is tomorrow.

Prices from VW website:
GTI: R368 300
GTI DSG: R382 800

Expect to pay way more if you want one now as I'm sure there's a 6 month+ waiting list on them

I think your time machine might be faulty.

*****

I can't believe this car comes with pretty much NOTHING as standard in this price range. And people will still buy it with a smile.

I was at the Royal Elephant today, and there were a good number of Golf 7 GTIs there. Might have been some form of launch.

So they (finally) change the mag, give you a few more kw, expect you to pay for options that are standard on other cars, charge you more for it, and dumbasses will still flock to buy it.

Um no, the 7 is built on a completely new platform: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_MQB_platform

What options?
The standard features list is really long http://www.vw.co.za/en/models/gti/t...sg.html#/tab=d19201ed7b31da7a1823efe798be2f93

and the options not so much:
http://www.vw.co.za/en/models/gti/prices_and_options.html

Front and rear discs
Anti-theft wheel bolts
Space saver spare wheel for temporary use, radial tire (5-hole)
Warning Triangle
Tool kit and jack
Colour coded mirror housings
Two speed with intermittent wipers
Rear wiper and washer, with intermittant control
etc.
etc.
Score! It's long because it contains lots of stuff that is expected to come with cars :p

Going to answer my question?

So what is optional then that is standard on other cars?

Also the resale value on a GTI is far far higher than most other cars here.

Yeah it was meant tongue in cheek, no need to take offence.

As to your question: Metallic paint (:wtf:), keyless entry and xenon lights. And I'm sure there are a few that aren't even listed on the options list.

No idea why they list metallic paint as optional, they always throw it in for free.

Keyless entry is meh and not really secure

As for the Xenons, it's standard on the Astra OPC which costs R70k more, optional on the 135i that costs R100k more and optional on the Renault Megane RS that costs about the same.

If you really want something that everything is extra on then it seems go buy a BMW, that option list is :wtf:

If only the focus ST didnt look so ugly and came in DSG/powershift.

Pending a test drive, i still think the ST1 is a better buy considering the price difference

I don't think the pricing is too bad, rather buy this than a "standard" 3 series. However I do recall hearing on you-tube that the xenons come standard overseas, obviously someones being screwed here.

So you'd go for the cheaper, slower, less refined ugly option? :D

It's not bad.
LED tails
5 year service plan
Standard.

Sunroof and xenons R19 000
Keyless entry is crap
Just think Bluetooth should be standard or cheaper.

Yip bt is standard. Missed that.
So the R version is due jan 2014...
If I had to, I'll take the R, leave the GTi to the wannabes lol.
