im thinking of giving WoW another try... in two minds though

I found that lvling was a bit too slooooow.... So would the recruit a friend thing work? I mean, could I recruit another account and get the benefit of faster experience gain?

RAF works if your account is UK based, otherwise, enjoy the slow leveling :(

I think that both accounts need to be internationaly based not 100% sure post a question on the official wow-europe website forums.

RAF requires that only the veteran account be based in the UK, also for every 2nd level that the recruit gets, he will be able to grant one extra level to any of of the veteran
Xp is three times higher and only works when the two characters are withing 4 levels of each other

Another suggestion is leveling a tanking class and leveling through the random dungeon system. Friend of mine is doing that with a healer friend and they're blowing through levels and always rocking fairly awesome gear.

"with a friend"

i just wanna be able to play with people from south africa... (my mates hate WoW)

Oh ye I forgot, leveling nowadays are piss easy, they want more n00bs to hit 80 so the "real game" can begin. Think they figured out the new people get bored too quickly and give up before 80

RaF is not as nice as it initially sounds. Apart from the "being based in the uk" issue, you MUST quest with your friend to gain triple xp which is only triple "group" xp, not individual. So its essentially a 45% gain or so. Now the worst part of it all- the recruited can only grant the recruiter levels! Forget about thinking you're going to be granted levels, nooo... that's only for the recruiter; rather useless tbh, since the recruited is the one wanting to level faster. In the early levels, it goes pretty fast.

whats wow ? :D

after playing some mortal online "offline mode" i can't wait for the damned beta servers to come online so i can fiddle around with the beta client a bit more than just running and looking at the world.

i must say it really looks awesome. i hope it is not another darkfall, because it has so much potential and uberness if everything just works. launch apparently is jan/feb, but that remains to be seen.

You could just buy 5 accounts and recruit yourself, thus making an epic adventure for multiboxing :D

multitasking. hec. diy raids :D

Running a program to duplicate your keystrokes to each instance of WoW and running macros.

Get's hectic though.

DIY Raids FTW :P

*edit*

@ the OP:

I used RAF on my second account. Recruited a guildy mate who also bought a second account, both accounts were set to UK while my main account was set to SA.

What we did was taking turns with our mains and running the other 2 instances of WoW on a separate screen. We powerleveled our second accounts that were linked just through instances/dungeons. It worked very well. I had a DK, just aggroed as many mobs as I could and nuked them down. Once the chars were 60, transferred them to our main account. Easiest leveling yet.
