My line has been dead for a whole week now. I was told that the main cable in my area was stolen again (2nd time).

So a few days ago I got a sms from Telkom that they are busy investigating all possible options to restore my service. I figure they will NOT replace the main cable in my area anymore (Not officially confirmed by Telkom).

Haha, it sucks big time :D:sick::(

ADSL R.I.P. in pieces.

Sorry to hear that man, cable theft is the worst.

If it makes you feel better, I will be moving to New Zealand in 2 months time and will be getting a 100Mbit fiber line.

I heard in NZ they prefer stealing fibre optic cable.

I feel for you.

I love my slow fix. At least I don't stay in a high theft area anymore so telkom deciding it isnt worth it isnt a worry.

Go buy some Ethernet cable, ID your line and bloody well fix it yourself :whistling:

Bump.

It's been 12 days and I'm still left without services :crying: Yesterday I got the following sms from Telkom.

Following message sent to *: Telkom has concluded its investigations. The cable in your area will be replaced and the restoration of your service is targeted for 2013/09/20.

I don't know if it's really a good news or not. Somebody from Telkom told me that it was severely damaged by a large wildfire :wtf: Is it really possible? How the F did the main underground cable got damaged by a wildfire? Please educate me.
