Once again I am sick, sick & tried of the way Telkom treats it's consumers! As long as the BIG BOSSES get their fact pay checks and drive the latest car, every thing is fine in paradise! Yeah!

I moved my ADSL line at the end Feb18 and after moving the distance from the exchange (Loop St Exchange, PMB) it was 6.3km. I had a 10Mbps ADSL line working at 7-8Mbps. Telkom then suggested to downgrade due to distance, to 4Mbps.

Now I have "JACK", 4Mbps ADSL that work at 2-3Mbps. I have reported this line 3x times this month alone. Telkom's old Telex system worked better!

Would you stay is fair that I pay Telkom for a service that does not exist!

Telkom bragged during the 2010 World Cup that they had a first class network, 8 years down the road, where is FIBRE? Oh I forgot! ONLY the affluent, HIGH LSM area's get fibre first.

So I think it is time to move on, maybe stoping payments and my service from Telkom might be enough to prevent Telkom paying salaries too.

Even if I pay more of another vendor that DOES offer service is far better that a vendor with NO service.

Oh BT, the closest exchange to me is 4.2km Pelham PMB and not Loop St Exchange (I worked for Dept P&T for 16 yrs).

PS: Did I mention that Telkom Mobile service is ZERO too; lucky if I get EDGE, the edge of the signal and I am round the corner of UKZN-PMB.

So cheers, bye, totsiens, Hamba kahle! Losing a ADSL & Mobile customer!

I am tried of NO SERVICE!

I canceled my telkom but I am going back. Rain network literally just does not cover my street, our other wireless providers that provide 10M/2M for R850 can't install because there is a tree in the way. The other provider does not cover the town "centre" or charge R1000 for uncapped 1M/1M

So i have to go back to their crappy service. I wish I had more options.

I got to be honest - when I ran Telkom 20Mbps VDSL, I got a real world 18Mbps+

It didn't slow down in peak and no inconsistency - really just worked. I must have had a 99.9% uptime in the time I had. Since getting fibre though ... whew. I think I'm emailed support 4 times in 30 days over upload speeds being under 0.5Mbps. I've had downtime of DAYS because Metrofibre has issues. In fact, the first weekend I had it ... it was down. And then 4 weeks after that.

WHERE are you actually ?
In Northcliff JOHANNESBURG ? ( the address noted on your login details )
or
Cliffside PIETERMARITZBURG ( apparently where all the problems are ? )

Have you run the app that indicates your distance from the exchange ?
How do you know the routing of your line ?

Have you been to the Pelham exchange -- or -- to ORIBI where the Openserve / Telkom tech depot is ?

BTW ;
IF you are 4.2 km from Pelham exchange you are NOT next door to UKZN
As a quick and simple GE will show

Scuse the necromancing.

I see you're clearly from PMB. Are you a Telkom employee by any chance?
