On the iMac issue have a look in your power settings. Those iMacs with the dual graphics cards (nVidia ones) have a setting to either run as High performance or not. Making sure that is set correcty can make a huge difference in frame rate.

On the Mouse I use an Ideazon Reaper and while it doens have 17 buttons it is pretty damn flawless. Also g15 , accept no crappy substitute

In terms of mouse, I have the X7.
6 DPI settings, on board memory, a triple fire button & it's laser.
Damage was only R300!

I play basically ONLY WoW and i bought myself the SteelSeries Merc Gaming Keyboard...

I vote for Logitech G9 as i have one and it's awesome.. but if that's a bit to pricey for you ,you can also look at cm storm inferno.
According to reviews the CM Storm Inferno is also pretty good
