GOOD LCD screen for PC

Samsung P series. It has that extra DC contrast ratio and 2ms refresh rate. And 1920x1080 would be better for HD content viewing.

fox1 that is what i was thingkingh. the xtra contrast and the low 2ms refresh rate. is there a place one can see the refresh rates at each resolution the screen supports?

Dynamic contrast is a load of marketing BS IMHO.

I would LOVE for you to try and tell me if you can notice the difference between a 2ms and a 5ms screen. Ive had both a few times over and honestly I can see no difference. If you can the it's your imagination:)

There is a huge difference with Dynamic Contrast on. Ask a salesman at a PC store that sells the P series monitors and ask them to turn on the Dynamic Contrast feature:)

I chose a 2ms monitor because I use the screen for my console and games like Forza Motorsport 2 and 3 run at 60fps:D

I think Incredible Connection has the monitors connected and on display. The only negative about the P2350 is that is doesn't have HDMI and you have to use a HDMI-DVI converter cable because there isn't enough space where the ports are situated to fit a HDMI-DVI converter and then a HDMI cable.

I have had various LCDs and DC is honestly a bit of a marketing gimmick more than anything else. If the real CR is 1000:1 then thats pretty much what you should be looking at. Almost all the samsung screens are 1000:1 in any case.
As for the g2g response time(NOT refresh rate). I have been gaming for quite a long time and can't see any difference between a 2ms/5ms screen.

Most people probably don't even realize that dynamic contrast isn't on by default(at least not on the T240/T260).
Maybe DC has its place but I actually find it annoying, the sudden changes in brightness just don't do it for me.

this has been informative. so dc isnt even on. that is strange. so dc not so important. but i suppose brightness is 300ccd is good?

have a 32' and the 2494HS :) never too much ;)

but ya i can say Value wise the 2494HS is best value for cash... R1900 is what i paid. And has speakers if you need ( i use them when i take it on holiday with the xbox) so something like that

oh ya and if you can see the difference between 2ms and 5 ms, you are super human ;)

I read something about these response times and this 2ms time is rated as GTG (grey to grey) so you can't really compare it to a BTB (black to black) rating. In the end I doubt you'll ever be able to notice the difference in modern LCD panels, The best idea is to try the panel out for yourself and see what YOU like.

ANOTHER question, is samsung > than the other lcd companies? ie should i also look at lg, philips, benq?

4cer how did u get to pay 1900?

what is the difference between the p2494hs and the p2450h. it seeems that it is just the contrast ratio. which is betteer?

Pcinternational ? made a bargain :P and the oke gave it to me for that price !

i have just looked at the XL2370. that looks good too with LED and 5000000:1 DC . this looks like a good bet

I have a Samsung 2370 XL LED screen and its really good 5000000:1 contrast ratio and it has HDMI

I don't know if there is a bigger version, but I must say that I have an HP w1907v screen, that I have had for about 3 years and it has never given me a problem. The glossy screen coating is really a definite MUST, and the visual quality is b-e-a-utiful.
