Hi guys,

Just wondering what you guys think of my OC on the E6300. I am running an Asus P5W-DH mobo, with el'cheepo DDR2-800 2GB. I am using the Zalman CNPS-9500 cooler, in an Enermax CS-718 case.

The highest I have been able to reach so far, without voltage increases on either RAM or CPU is 410MHz FSB (2.87GHz clock).

How have your guys overclocking efforts fared on other C2D chips...

hehe, killa, thx for the link. I actually read that exact article before deciding to buy the board and CPU but managed to loose it somewhere along the line of reinstalling OS and stuff. Well, good news is that unlike the version of the board that XBit had for testing, mine can raise MCH voltage to 1.85(Could have been revision change or just the BIOS update), so that should mean that I can push my CPU to at least 450MHz FSB.

Haven't played around with it yet, a bit too lazy atm... Will keep you guys informed on how far i manage to push it, if you interested...

Got a E6400 ... never bothered overclocking my CPU's as I like my PC to be rock solid and stable.

I once had a Pentuim 200Mhz MMX with a crappy Opti Viper-M chipset where the 16 bit DMA would not work realiably and the machine rebooted every day for no particular reason.

I don't wish to repeat that ever again.

Tibby, you want to test for stability, overclock your proc, and then run Prime 95 and SuperPi for 24hr's straight. If you dont get an error, then it is pretty much guaranteed that your system is stable.

I don't think my RAM is going to allow that ... I am still running DDR-400 ;)

my cpu is running much better since i overclocked it

its only 300mhz but thats not bad for a 3800+ dual core, they dont overclock very well

mmm, i got a bit more than 300 out of my 3800 hey. think the top that i managed to get out was 600, but i had a k@k case, and stock cooling, and when i got the thing to 72 degrees on prime95, i decided to shut it down before it was too late.

the core2 on the other hand, doesnt heat up at all. my northbridge run a lot hotter than my cpu. cpu during full load at 2.92GHz runs at a cool 52 degrees...
