Hi all

I've been working for 7 years now as a software engineer and I've lost touch completely with what the salary bands are these days.

I haven't worried about it too much because in my opinion my salary is pretty decent.

What is the general feeling of entry level, 3 years, 6 years, 10 years. (yes weird year numbering there but I feel like 3 without a good increase is a warning sign).

Also can we keep this civil please :D

Wait wait did I hear you say you have not got a good increase in 3 years? Move!

The MyBB salary articles give a decent indication.

You should probably be somewhere around R50k right now. Depending on how good you are and what qualifications you have, and where you live.

7 years experience... if you are half decent in something like Java and can do SQL, small company at least R50k bigger companies maybe about R60k. If you’ve got some team lead experience too, maybe another R10k on those.

No I said if you don't you should.

Interesting, those numbers seem very low.

Also what is a "C-level executive"

My company pays exceptionally.

Oh really?

Yeah he's just here to brag, "oh I have no idea what people are earning out there ". Unless you're making snoop money, don't waste our time.

Yep. Btw, snoop don't make no money.
