I'm sure not many Zims will be missing you.

Africa has a chance again. See, the Rand already strengthened since earlier today. Foreign investors see opportunity in Zim, SA and other African countries again.

Today, a new day dawns for Africa.

Not sure where all this news comes from, as this is from a forum within Zimbabwe. Yes, I know they have censorship and state run TV....

Not that long ago all the Dead BC (ZBC) had was a programme about dolphins. No kidding! Maybe its an attempt to calm the mood?

But headlines now are that 140 results have been declared. We have reported 141 but maybe ZTV aren’t including the one unopposed seat.

ZBC is also saying that “Zimbabweans must maintain peace, that the army is on high alert”.

This sms flying around: “apparently we all need to be watching zbc at 8.30pm. apparently good news, but we will have to wait and see.”

So, I got my sms, I ran to the shower, I washed my hair, I put on my favourite MDC T-shirt from the 2005 elections. It reads, “a new zimbabwe, a new beginning“.

Even if we have to wait a little longer than 8.30, the energy right now is worth it.

I'll be seriously surprised.... And even more impressed!

If Bob can be ousted through democratic elections, things for this part of the world have taken a serious turn for the better.

Whoohoooooo positive talk!! ha ha sorry couldn't resist! But yeah it does bode well for the Southern African region.

Great news, I hope the new leader really brings reform rather than empty promises to the country.

An official in Mugabe's Zanu-PF party said the long-ruling president was prepared to step down but was still trying to win agreement from the army's chief of staff, Constantine Chiwenga.

"He is prepared to step down because he doesn't want to embarrass himself by going to a run-off," the source said on condition of anonymity.

Sorry, I just had to LOL at that part! :D

I think he's already managed to embarrass himself and the next ten generations of Mugabes!

It would've been interesting to have a forum like this during Zimbabwe's initial independance. Would be interesting if this site was still up in 30 years time to see the new president's progress or demise as the case would be.

I'd actually enjoy it more if Zanu-PF and MDC were going to share power properly and democratically. A one party state is never good, no matter who the party is.

Yes, very true, lets hope though that the next time democracy comes to the fore in Africa it does not result in political unrest (Kenya) and the total destruction of a once vibrant economy (Zimbabwe) before change is 'accepted' or realized.
Baby steps I suppose.

Anyway, he ain't gone just yet, this is one stubborn old buffalo that is not going to give up his waterhole without a fight.

Was it Tutu or Mandela that said something like you will never be free until you forgive?
Same applies to MadBob and his cronies, there has to be some kind of negotiated transition so that his supporters, albeit the 'few', voices are heard as well.
