Might take us a little longer than expected to be shot of you FINALLY since you don't accept our termination of month-to-month email from Sunday since you only opened it on Monday. What a load of crock! This only confirms after months of bandwidth disappearance and other general uselessness from your help-yourself-desk that we are definitely making the right decision in being rid of you once and for all.

Hubby is still using them.

I <3 my adsl connection!

The funny thing is that even if they confirm its cancelled , they still dont cancel it ...
A wise man once said that all that hold on to sinking ship will become fish food .

Oh I have no doubt there will be further battles. Only hope the bank stops the debit order when we provide proof we have cancelled the service.

Why do you need to prove you have cancelled the service to stop the debit order? Your bank should cancel the debit order without question, I've never needed proof of anything to cancel a debit order with a bank.

Problem is not stopping it at the bank , its preventing iburst from blacklisting you for non payment because you stopped the debit order .

Typically people use iBurst for portability and cause there is no alternative, either cause there is no fixed Telkom land lines or the Telkom exchange is not ADSL ready in the area they stay in. Costs is also another reason, so its not suprising seeing people move from wireless broadband to ADSL. :)

If I had that option I would do the same, I was on WebAfrica 3 years ago which was great :)

Well if there is no alternative , i guess you dont have a choice (Captain obvious award) .
I am warning people that do have a choice.

Iburst is about as portable as my kitchen fridge.
You dont even have to travel out of town to lose signal.
MTN , Vodacom and even cellc is portable . Iburst is not .

Depends what you using it for. For gaming mobile 3G is out of the question.

OK, I get it now. DiegoA has no alternative to iBurst, but he wished he had. And so he wishes he could be Dusk with his 'fug-you-iBurst' attitude; DiegoA is really just envious that he can't swear and stomp at iBurst. Or what?

Make no mistake , my ADSL is not installed yet so im on 3G which is more expensive till it gets done but Id rather spend a little more than continue supporting someone that just gave me the finger.
Its called taking a stand .

After a few years with IB, I've never had any major hassles. That being said, I've applied for my telkom line and soon thereafter, my adsl. Iburst was practical back then, not anymore. Will see what happens when i cancel.

As to cancelling on the last day of the month, what did you expect? The process to deduct the money had prolly already been put into motion and trying to stop it hours before its due was never gonna happen. Rather give them at least a week to stop everything. Then pray that they do though!

Gave them more than enough notice.

Sorry, I was referring to that. Not anybody else.

FYI I use Screamer Wimax as well. I mentioned that the move from wireless broadband to land line ADSL is not an option for me at the moment, cause of hellkom. If I had a reason to stomp and swear at iBurst I would, but I dont have one at the moment as I havent had any problems with them.

lol :)

Btw anyone else tried Screamer Wimax as well?

Yes , I have them now
512 uncapped and I get my full 512 all the time. A few service interruptions , but not 2 bad overall. 60ms ping to SGS servers

Yeah Gary I am with them too, but its been endless hassles from day one with them. They overbilled me on my CPE unit and they still not refunded me the difference. Also their connection is unstable. Initially I had huge timeouts and disconnects and now its just slow connection or very high latencies. Make online gamming very frustrating and unplayable. I am trying to get a Vodacom Wimax instead, heard they use a mixture of Seacom/Saix for their upstream.
