My point is simply that MC's premium bouquet is overpriced, they are upgrading their affordable bouquets because there is now competition.

You have to see what is happening.

Affordability is now the issue - there is a satellite TV war going on.

So, downgrade (either with TopTV or DStv).

I did with both (i.e. never could afford the overpriced premium DStv anyway).

I'm on both Toptv and Dstv Compact. with regards to the EPL, Toptv only covers about 4 of the english clubs, and they dont show live EPL games either when the season is on. I'm a Man Utd supporter, Setanta doesn't serve me in anyway when it comes to soccer. Yes i agree MC is overpriced, but Dstv charges people the extra for quality live sports, and they've also invested in new technologies, etc. It would be interesting to see when Toptv launches their HD channels though because not everyone can afford MC's HD premiums.

I just hope you are not on the R249/mth TopTV bouquet. If you are, I'm sure you have seen enough now. You don't need it anymore.

My advice remains - downgrade.

You are already on the best DStv option since you are a football fan, don't know where you are going to watch the rugby. I guess thats a battle to fight another day.

I was going to change to TopTV but you are right, with no live football there is no way I can drop DStv. I am hooked on 4400, and Current TV and even FLN (don't laugh - its quality time spent with the Mrs.) so I'm not dropping TopTV just yet. I also don't need dual view if I have both TopTV and DStv.

oh ok. I'm on the Toptv R99 package just for the occasional Bollywood, FLN and Current TV stuff. I don't really watch Rugby as lots of Rugby games like the tri-nations, super14, etc games doesn't always happen at our local times, and i wouldn't wake up early in the morning to watch a game. So for me the Dstv Compact option works out fine with just the SS3 soccer. :)
 
where is a TOPTV REP now,
I am going to give TTV untill the end of aug 2010 to give us TOP programs and movies as their name says TOPTV but there is nothing top about it, and new movies on Silver all the movies have been the same for the last 3 months same movies everyday maybe they should change their name to TOP REPEATS
 
Quick yes but damn I think consumers in South Africa are sick and tired of being promised one thing and getting another!
 
I agree the current movie content sucks, if they play old and can not afford new why not some oldish classics?
I don't care for new movies, if I like a movie I buy the DVD.

Green mile, shawshank redemption, rocky horror picture show, Mel brooks in all his movies, little shop of horrors e.t.c. should all go for not to bad a price.
 
I as surprised to see the UEFA Champions League is being show on Setanta Africa. They started of with the qualifiers last night which Supersport never show.

I am starving for soccer right now. My wife is getting majorly pissed off with me for playing FIFA 2010 every night.
