Guys! The 30GB at R200 per a month was an awesome special. I was so lucky to have been part of the lucky few. I had great joy from that account.

The thing is at the moment I can only afford so much and there is no point in me having R200 uncapped and R200 at 30GB. One of them must go, and it is Web Africa!

My line is currently 384K and when I do upgrade it to a 4MB line. I'll rather spend more on my ISP and get uncapped than only 30GB

WA with their "sustainable pricing" will soon be unsustainable with so many of their clients leaving. I gave my 11G @ R99 up for uncapped. I wonder how many cancellations they receive per day!

Personally I think you should wait a month before you get rid of that account..the way things are going with these uncapped accounts in terms of speed and latency, its best to have a backup account. At least after a month or so we'll be able to clearly see whether this uncapped is really what we expected of it. If you can't afford the 30GB, lend it to a trustworthy friend or relative for a month..that way if the uncapped is still sucky well then you still have 30GB of quick bandwidth :)

Dude that company is on the way out. I cannot see how they can stay in business without uncapped.

I agree. The 30Gb special capped accounts are great, you get the max speed throughout the day. The threads about the uncapped accounts from other ISP's clearly indicate they're all being throttled to death during the day. Not that I'm really surprised though, that's the only way the ISP's can sustain the uncapped products. I'd hang on to that 30Gb account as well.

SA internet landscape may look a little different in a few months when the EASSy and WACS undersea cables are completed as well.

im sure as hell not letting go of my 30gb account for now, performance is more than good.

Yeah, with the current state of the IS (uncapped) accounts, I think I should continue using Web Africa accounts for gaming.

I've just started on the new 4Mb line + 16Gb deal for R499. I'll hold onto it for now. There is something to be said for redundancy and fast browsing when you need it. It might also let me get away with a 512 uncapped account for general use, with the full-speed WA account on standby for when I need to do fast downloading or Youtubing. I've set WA up as a PPPOE "dial-up" in Windows 7, so it is a quick click away to connect to it when I want it. The router is configured with the 512 Mweb uncapped trial account.

Can someone not create a "goodbye ISP" thread where people can post their little goodbye's in? Have all the little farewells in one place, like in the papers. :)

Thanks that answers my question I am also on the 16GB/4MB deal... and want to use it for work i do web dev on servers in canada, and also want to use the WA account for gaming... so a 512 uncapped for downloading will be fine for the bulk downloads....

I have decided that due to my new job as IT Admin; I need to always be able to access my servers remotely. I am keeping the 30GB special (has nothing to do with Axxess being throttled to death *of cause it does*) for redundancy.

I'd love to take your 199 for 30gb off your hands - 30 gb's all I need really... can anyone at WA help? My application is still open in the WA panel :)

In light of Afrihost's revised version of a previously revised "Uncapped" FUP, this special is an absolutely brilliant product.

It's always been a brilliant product - just way too few were allowed.

Well I decided not to cancel this and keep it. Since the uncapped offerings at the moment look rather pathetic. I am looking at you Axxess!
